Today is Mega Swagbucks day so it’s a great day to talk about Swagbucks and how to take advantage of their program. I know many of you already use Swagbucks and love it just like I do…but I thought I would post more information for those of you who are just starting out or need a refresher.
Swagbucks is a Google- and Ask.com-powered search engine. When you use Swagbucks (instead of plain old Google) to search the internet as you normally would, you’ll be able to randomly win Swagbucks. You can redeem your Swagbucks at any time for gift cards and other cool prizes. I’ve found that if I do a couple searches in the morning I’ll generally win by my 7th search; (and usually the same in the evening). I am sometimes lazy about remembering to use Swagbucks and I still manage to earn enough to get myself a $5 Amazon gift card two or three times a month – can’t beat that!
If you don’t find yourself using a search engine often, here’s another idea: rather than navigating to your favorite sites through a bookmark bar or just by typing the name of the site into your browser, use Swagbucks to ‘search’ for the site you want to go to instead. It takes an extra 10 seconds to do this step but it definitely will be 10 seconds that ends up paying for itself!
You can also get instant Swagbucks for things like signing up for Gamefly.com or Netflix, making purchases through the various vendors, etc – check out the “Earn” tab at the top of the site for more information.
I mentioned above that it’s Mega Swagbucks day today: every Friday you can earn double or triple the amount of Swagbucks when you search as you normally do, so this is a great day to get started with Swagbucks (or, if you’re lax about it like I am, a great day to finally get back into it)!
